Church History
Faith Covenant Church was founded by the late Quinten T. Barlow in 2005. Pastor Barlow led his B.A.D. (Blessed and Delivered) congregants with enthusiasm and vigor until the Lord suddenly called him home in late November 2017. In March 2018, Pastor Christopher Williams took over as Lead Servant. Determined to take the baton, Pastor Williams has successfully led the church through the loss of its beloved founder and the Covid-19 crisis. With Pastor Williams’ innovation, consistency, and ever-burning fire, Faith Covenant Church is one of the best-kept secrets in the country. We proudly proclaim that this is “the greatest church in the world” and “love works here!”

About Our Pastor
Christopher W. Williams was born March 7, 1983 to George and the late Emma Williams. He is the youngest of 9 children. Christopher Williams is a Pastor, Preacher, Teacher, Singer, Songwriter, Husband, Father and diligent worker in the Kingdom of God. He accepted Jesus Christ at an early age and immediately became active in the church as a Sunday school teacher and choir director. In 1999 at the tender age of 16 Pastor Williams accepted his call to ministry at the New Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of Pastor Isaac A. Wright, Sr. and was ordained and licensed by the Zion District Organization.
In 2006, Pastor Williams suffered a loss that threatened to shake his very foundation when his mother died suddenly. Though he was heartbroken, Pastor Chris called on his heavenly Father for strength and a day before his 23rd birthday delivered a powerful eulogy and laid her to rest. Later that same year, Pastor Williams was called to Pastor the Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church in Byhalia, Ms. Under his leadership, the church membership has increased by 75%. The building underwent major renovations, a church van was purchased to assist members in getting to church, and Mt. Sinai became a DEBT FREE body of believers. During his ten-years as the shepherd of this flock, Pastor Williams was able to build relationships throughout the community that are still felt to this day.
In 2017 Pastor Williams followed the instruction of God and took on a new assignment as the Sr Pastor of the church that was founded by one of his closest friends the late Pastor Quinten T. Barlow, Faith Covenant Church in Memphis, TN. Pastor Williams has taken the baton and is running with vigor. He proudly proclaims that “Love Works at Faith Covenant!”. This came after he had a moment of reflection on how even through the pain of the sudden passing of their leader, they were still able to accept him with open arms. It is this very love that has continued to propel the ministry and gives him strength in trying times. Pastor Williams is also a devoted family man. He met and married the love of his life Lady Cherim Gwin-Williams in Feb of 2008. In 2012 they began a Family and Marriage Ministry called, “Together We Stand”. Its purpose is to promote healthy marriage and family life according to biblical principles. It was created as a resource to provide a place of release, fellowship and guidance. Its’ ministry goal is to show that it doesn’t matter how dark your present situation is or how uncertain your future may look; through Christ ALL things are possible!
Pastor Williams’ passion for young people led him to work as an educator for Shelby County Schools where he has the golden opportunity to serve as a mentor daily. Ever thirsty for knowledge, he is enrolled at LeMoyne Owen College, with the intent of completing his degree with a Bachelor of Science in Education..
Pastor Williams is a blessed man who has been commissioned and is committed to spreading the message of Jesus Christ. He is relentless and has every intent to contend for the faith until Jesus says, “Well Done Servant”.
